Fish traps are called hinaki by Maori, though often the name is used specifically for an eel trap. They were made from woven vines, some in amazingly beautiful forms. The Hinaki Stained Pendant Light, inspired by hinaki fish traps, is one of David Trubridge's first designs. Hinaki is made from bamboo plywood.
