A changeable, unpredictable modern design that transmits unforgettable illumination, the Aella Openwork LED Table Lamp from Leucos Lighting was first designed by Toso and Massari, an architect couple, in 1968. The precision of Swiss watches inspired this “openwork” design and features a handblown glass diffuser from a master glassblower with a plaster element on its top to reduce upward glare. Under each base, a brushed plate of stainless steel is laser-engraved with the lamp’s name, year of production, unique serial number, designer names, and the LEUCOS logo for added exclusivity. The energy-efficient LED light source is placed inside a metal cylinder, with borosilicate glass leaving parallel copper-sheathed wiring channels on open display. The copper with patinate over time, while the personal touch leaves each fixture’s shade is subtly unique, giving each lamp a distinctive character.
